Enable barge in for a user
The barge-in feature allows users to drop in on an ongoing call, essentially creating a conference call. When the barge-in feature is enabled, users can use the Feature Access Code (FAC) to answer a call that was directed to another subscriber or barge in on the call, if it was already answered.
Barge in can be used across locations. To barge in on a call, dial FAC *33. You will then hear a stutter dial-tone (if enabled) to let you know the system recognizes the access code and is ready for you to enter the number to which you want to barge in. Once an administrator has enabled the barge-in feature for a user, the end user can modify their barge-in settings within User Hub. Read more here.
If the other user does not have Allow Barge In enabled, the call will not be connected.
- From Control Hub, go to the Users tab.
- Select the user you’d like to modify.
- Select the Calling tab.
- Scroll down to Between-user permissions and select Barge in.
- To enable, select the toggle.
- Check the box next to Play a tone when this user Barges In on a call, if applicable.
- Select Save to save your changes.
