Introduction
Administrators can enable voicemail transcription within Control Hub for specific users, groups, or shared voicemail boxes. With voicemail transcription, the user receives an email with the voicemail transcription in the body of the email and .WAV file as a voicemail attachment.
Enable Voicemail Transcription
To enable voicemail transcription for users:
- From Control Hub, go to the Users tab.
- Select a user.
- Select the Calling tab.
- Scroll down to Voicemail, fax and announcement language and select Voicemail.
- Under Additional settings, check the box next to Email a copy of voicemail message and select the email address for it to be sent to.
- Under Message storage, make sure Use internal mailbox is selected.
Note: These two settings must be enabled in order for voicemail transcription to work.

To enable voicemail transcription for a location:
- From Control Hub, go to the Calling tab.
- Select Locations, and select a location from the list.
- In the Call Settings list, click Voicemail.
- Toggle Transcribe voice message to enable or disable.
If enabled, users at this location receive an email with the transcribed voicemail, along with a recording of the voicemail. If disabled, the email only contains the recording of the voicemail.
